Lifeboat Networks provides the best experience for Minecraft Pocket Edition gaming. Whether you play Survival Games, Skywars, Spleef, Bounty Hunter or Capture the Flag, Lifeboat is a premium provider of Minecraft PE gaming.

Lifeboat approached me for a complete redesign. Their old site was built with a pre-made template they had outgrown. They felt limited in their ability to customize the site, and the template was bloated with features and options they didn’t need. They wanted a custom site that could grow with their business. And with several thousand visitors a day, they needed a site that was well optimized and provided a great mobile experience.

We used the Flat UI color palette by Designmodo along with custom artwork they had commissioned to represent popular Minecraft characters. The site includes a custom post type for the Community Videos on the homepage, and a custom post type with custom taxonomy for VIP Products and Kit Selection. Every page has a slider with Minecraft characters and call to action buttons to their app for Android and iOS. The slider shows five random characters per page which is great for SEO.

This project took five weeks to complete and included wireframes created in Photoshop for the homepage, several inner pages and a style guide. Upon approval I created a full design comp in Photoshop for the homepage representing a desktop and mobile view. Then I moved to the browser and created a static homepage. When this was approved I began building a custom WordPress theme.

Overall this site was an absolute pleasure to design and develop, and the folks at Lifeboat continue to hire me for modifications and additions as their business grows.
